Membership Types
LAD membership is open to Deaf, DeafBlind, and hard of hearing individuals, their families, professionals, and allies.
Full Member
Who: Deaf individuals 18+ residing in Louisiana with dues paid.
Rights: Full voting rights and eligibility to hold office.
Associate Member
Who: Hearing individuals (in or out of Louisiana), or non-Louisiana Deaf individuals 18+ with dues paid.
Rights: All rights of Full Members except holding office.
Honorary Member
Who: Conferred by a two-thirds vote of members at a biennial Conference Meeting.
Rights: All rights of Full Members.
Student Member
Who: Deaf high school seniors may request membership.
Rights: 2-year complimentary membership; all rights except holding office.
Senior Member
Who: Senior Deaf community members meeting eligibility criteria.
Rights: Reduced dues; full participation in LAD activities.
